Word of Wisdom/Witness by Proclaiming (Luke 2:30-35)

The ultimate role of a witness is to proclaim what he or she has seen. A witness who sees but fails to speak up has fail to fulfill his function. Simeon gladly spoke out to everyone who would listen: the salvation for the Lord has come!

Luke 2:30 states, "for mine eyes have seen thy salvation" As a faithful witness, Simenon was eager to proclaim what he knew. With his own eyes he had seen the Lord's salvation. He had seen the child through whom deliverance would come. Indeed, his eyes had seen the glory of the coming of the Lord as stated in Isaiah 40:5; 52:10)!.

It must be admitted that Simeon had only seen a baby and there is nothing remarkable in the appearance of this infant. There is no halo over His head. But Simeon sees the baby Jesus through the eyes of faith. He believes what God had revealed through His Spirit. It is in this sense that Simeon can say he had seen the Lord's salvation.

Simeon knew that the arrival of Jesus would advance God's plan of salvation before the face of all people. The truth here is that God's salvation is not just for Israel; it is for everyone. So, as we celebrate the Birth of Jesus, we should also use this time to share the salvation message with our family and friends this Holiday season.

May the blessings of the Lord rest upon everyone and their families. Evangelist Annie R. Eskridge email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net. My website is in an overhaul state for now. A new one is coming very soon once the new project is completed.

Word of Wisdom

Praises be to God for seeing another day. This year have kept me and my family on our needs. We have learned the importance of trusting God for your deliverance and healing. Just recently our nephew was murdered as he sat in his truck. The questioned asked, why someone would murder a person that was a handicap. It was just ten years ago when the same nephew was in a terrible accident and lost one of his leg.
Some of the people of this generation has gotten away from Christianity. There is no respect or reverence for the church. Our thinking is not in balance, it is out of balance. We must not forget that God has always existed, God is unique and merciful and full of love for all. We can reap his blessings when we are obedient to His Word.
The Prophet  Ezekiel is focuses on reverence for God. Ezekiel states, “the hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones”(Ezek 37:1). The bones needs to be restored to what is pleasing the Lord. As you read the passage in Ezekiel 37, it speaks about dry bones in the valley, and it asked the question, will these bones live again or can these bones live again?
This chapter makes one think of the way people live today including some Christians. We go to church but we are like those dry bones. We have no substance in us that make things seem that we are        without hope, when we should look like we do have hope in Christ Jesus. All of our hope is gone, we can live again, if we would turn from our evil ways or our ungodly actions. John tells us, “if we could confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”(1 John 1:9KJV).
Then, I ask myself what has happen to this generation.  They have forgotten about the biblical principles of holiness. One young lady remarked, shacking is not in the Bible.  I let her know that fornication and adultery was, but it was her choice, where will you spend eternity? That gave her something to think about. I’m not putting anyone down, but just ask yourself, where do you want to spend eternity? Are you in the valley with the dry bones or what?- Evangelist Annie Eskridge, areskridge6840@att.net.

Word of Wisdom

Word of Wisdom

Churches today are filled with people who have never really been Born Again.  Regrettably, under the teaching and preaching, they never will be Born-Again. To reach the lost, the Message of the Cross must be taught. Faith movement and Purpose Driven have failed to reach the lost. The Holy Spirit will not work or function in any other capacity but the Message of the Cross because it will save, heal and deliver those who are in bondages. (Acts 2:16-21, 29-38, 42 Acts 8:14)

The Cross of Christ is the pivot point of the entirety of the Word of God. Paul refers to it as the Everlasting Covenant (Heb 13:20). The modern Church needs to know about the Cross. It’s sad but the Message of the Cross offends the world and most of the Church. We need to pray for the Church, so that God can be glorified in all churches.

Sin Is The Problem

The world today is embedded with sin like never before, but Jesus has provided a way for all.
Yes, sin is the problem, and the Cross of Christ is the only answer for that problem.
The Cross of Christ has been so little preached in the last several decades that the modern Church does not know anymore where it has been, where it is, or where it is going. Preachers are prosposing every type of solution except the Message of the Cross.

The Word of God clearly tell us "for Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect. This tells us that the Cross of Christ must always be the emphasis of the Message that we minister to God's people (1 Cor 1:17). Apostle Paul is not knocking Water Baptism , but stating that nothing should be the emphasis except the Cross of Christ.

The formula that might help would be:

  • Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (Jn 14:6).
  • The object of faith: The Cross of Christ (Rom 6:3-5).
  • Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Rom 8:1-2,11).
  • Results: Victory (Rom 6:14).

We must never forget the Message of the Cross. If you are interested in learning more abotu The Revelation of the Cross please go to www.jsm.org.

Consequences of Sin

In the chapter of Daniel 9 verses 11-14. It tells us the consequences of sin. It starts with , "yea, all Israel have transgressed they law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him." Even in verse 14 it reads, "therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice."

Keeping in mind this particular time period, as well as the context helps to determine  that the phrase...all Israel.....used here, Daniel was most likely thinking of those who had descended from Jacob.  The northern tribes had fallen long before Judah was taken captive should have been a warning. Prior to the fall of Jerusalem, the Prophet Jeremiah rebuked the people for trusting in the temple to save them(Jer 7:1-4; 26:12-15).

The curse mentioned in Daniel's prayer most likely referred to the cursed for disobediences that is found in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. Describes by Moses just before Israle entered the Promised Land, such things as agricultural blight, pestilence, drought, illness, military defeat as a result of the nations disobedience. Daniel even prayed and acknowledged that we have sinned against God. This tells us that it is absolute necessary for us to admit our sinfulness before the Lord.(1John1:7-2:2).

Even today, we see so much disobedience in the world.  Things that goes against the Word of God that is the Bible, it is disobedience. If we do not repent and believe the gropel of Jesus Christ, our destiny will be far worse than what happened to Jerusalem when it was destroyed by the Babylonians. Whether the time is short or not we all need to listen to the Spirit of God, so the Christians will not be lost. Annie Dennis-Eskridge, areskridge@sbcglobal.net author of Sin Abides.

Jesus Command Forgiveness

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord how oft shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times; but, until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servant"(Matthew 18:21-23 KJV).

Many feel that forgiveness should be earned. But that is not what the Scripture says. It encourages us to forgive unconditionally. Peter assumed that seven times were amply tome to forgive anyone. Jesus responds that seven times is not sufficient but that you should forgive seventy times seven, unlimited forgiveness must applied.

So, think about this and then ask yourself, can I follow after what Jesus had spoken to His disciple? If we are followers after Jesus Christ, then we must also follow  his instructions. It might seem hard when someone ahs deliberated hurt you over and over again, but if we ask Jesus to help us, He will.  Many times we have to cast that care on Jesus, so we can walk in forgiveness with whom has wrong us.  Regardless of who the person is, we must learn to forgive them, so that the Lord will forgive us. Just a word of wisdom for today.

Far too many Christians are walking in unforgiveness.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...website: http://www.ruthplace.com and my email is areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Word of Wisdom: Saints fail to make a difference

Today our fractured families are so disconnected and so busy concentrating on computers, intent on different electronic, and taking time to tect instead of talking. We teach the word of God diligently to our children, talk to them when we sit down in our homes, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up(Deut 6:7).  Instead, we plan programs, attend luncheons, praise the Lord in our pews, and then wonder why we are are surrounded by a generation, that attend our churches, yet, they do not know God. They live contrary to the Word of God, yet they attend church faithfully. We must see to be filled with the Holy Spirit and stir up the gift, so we may be, Empowered by God to Make A Difference.( Taken from the Christian  Women Council's Curriculum Topics 2013).

Elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen great works of the Lord and yet they did not know God's work. Their ignorance resulted from the failure of these elders, who knew of God's work, yet they did not follow after righteous. Today this new generation have not been convinced to follow God. As Saints, we need to make a difference instead of letting this generation go down the wrong highway. They need to be on a highway of holiness as found in Isaiah 35:8."And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness, the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfearing men, though fools, shall not err therein. The Scripture definitely predicts a literal highway that will be built from Egypt through Israel to Assyria (isa 11:6; 19:23-25); however, these passages do not refer to taht particular highway but to the way of Holiness.

It is proclaimed by the Holy Spirit that the way is holiness.  Holiness characterizes all taht God is and does.   Just a word of wisdom for all to think about.  Annie Dennis Eskridge
