Confession-Renee Allen McCoy

Looking for an interesting book to read....then...Confession is it. The book has been written for the entire world. Renee Allen McCoy has penned another book. It's a page turner where you can see deceit and betrayal. It fits with the title..Confession...Jermaine Grant and Nia Thomas, Karen,Justine and most of the characters lives are complicated. Then, I asked the question, does anyone trust anyone?

In order to follow the plot you need to read...The Kiss of Judas. She does an excellent job following her plot. She follow it so closely until you might want to reread..The Kiss of Judas...This is why you need both inorder to understand the plot.

For all of the soap opera watchers, this series is better than any soap opera. The languge is very tasteful and even your teenager can read it. I don't want to spoil your suspense, so go to your local bookstore to order the book or www.reneeallenmccoy.com. Enjoy...Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides

Thought for Today

A note for the praying saints. It has been brought to my attention that many of the young people that were raised in the Church have fallen away. One grandmother would like for the saints to pray for her granddaughter that has come out of the closet. She announce that she is a lesbian. It' s said because this young lady I personal know. She went to youth services, song in the choir and attended church regularly.

She isn't the only one. Another case the younglady, a Christian married an atheist. Now, she doesn't believe in Jesus Christ. The point here is Saints we been praying, but this is something we can add to the prayer list. We have mothers and grandmothers whose hearts have been broken as a result of what I have shared.

The Word of God tells us,"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, adn will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"(2 Chr 7:14KJV). Just a thought for the saints to pray. I left the names out on purpose, but God knows who they are. Enjoy your blessings...Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...www.ruthplace.com

Word of Wisdom

Last year I brought several books that were suppose to be Christian fiction, but I was surprised with the language used in four. The salelady at Borders told me they were suppose to be from a Christian author. She and I both were surprised to know that such language was used. Remember if you are writing material for the Lord, please make sure that it glorify the Lord in all things.

If you are not sure about what you are about to say, just ask yourself, will this bring glory to God? Then, How would God handle a situation like this?If I shared one paragraph from those books it would be a disgrace. Just a word of wisdom, please use words that will minister to those who are hurting.

Then to the readers, We can refused to read books that are misleading. If I purchase a book that's suppose to be Christian then I expect it to be. Happy New Year and enjoy your blessings...Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.

Word of Wisdom

"Now let no man contend, or rebuke another; For your people are like those who contend with the priest. Therefore you shall stumble in the day; The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night; And I will destroy your mother. My people are destroyed for lack knowledge, Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children"(Hosea 4:4-6NKJV).

For years I have heard this taught across the pulpit, but I didn't fully understand it. My first semester in seminary, I had to speak on this passage. I was led to share part of the teaching with you today. God made a charge against Israel for failing to teach God's law to His people. This was Israel's religious leaders downfall. They were accused of keeping the people from knowing GOD,destroyed for lack of knowledge. They were suppose to be spiritual leaders , but they had become leaders of wrongdoings. Even today, people will see the priest(spiritual leaders) doing wrong and they assume it's okay for them to do also. Spiritual leaders have a heavy responsibility. It doesn't matter what you teach, bible study, or lead a group, you need to take your leadership role serious. God will deal with all priest for wrongdoing with His judgment. He will terminate the priestly line.

The Old Testament prophet was known as the messenger of the Lord. In Malachi 2:7, this is the only time that the priests are called the messengers of the Lord. So, we see where it was important for them to teach the Word of God correctly.

I shared this to say the Word of God will stand forever whether we accept it or not.

The Tithe in the Old Testament

The 3 tithes in the Mosaic Law?
1st tithe- 1/10 of all given to the Levites(Leviticua 27:30-33; Numbers 18:21-32).

2nd tithe? -1/10 of remaining 9/10 set apart and consumed in a sacred meal in Jerusalem (Deuteronomy 12:5-6,11,18; 14:22-27) those living too far from Jerusalem could bring money.

3rd tithe?- Replaced 2nd tithe every 3rd year (or 1/10 of the balance every 3rd year) for the Levites, aliens, orphans and widows (Deuteronomy 14:28-29) if 2-3 tithes, then the total of the tithe= approximately 19-22 % per year!!

One New Testament Theologian said: "the tithes were the gifts to the Lord that the Law required. There were three: two that were annual and one that came every three years. The tithes supported the priests and Levites, and also widow , orphans, and foreigners (Deut 14:28-29).Most Churches today have tithing as part of their church doctrine. That's alright too, but the New Covenant Church is suppose to be a cheerful giver. Whatever the Lord lead you to give to the local church please be cheerful in giving.

In past, I've heard ministers say, you would be curse if you didn't tithe. The people were cursed with poor production from their land and animals. A key verse from the Law of Moses read that the curse will come "because you didn't serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart for the abundance of everything"(Deut 28:47).

I am a tither and I've been one for years. I purpose in my heart to give more than the 10%. I feel better since I know the truth and I don't have to feel guilty if I didn't have a dime to give.I consider myself more of a cheerful giver and I ask the Father what should I give. Apostle Paul makes is clear,"But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheeful giver"(2 COR 9:6-7NKJV). Email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net. website:www.ruthplace.com. Word of Wisdom

As we are about to enter into a New Year. We need to be more mindful of what we do and what we say. We say we study our Bible, but what I hear coming from the majority of our mouths doesn't line up with the Word of God.
The Word of God will deliver and set us free. When we speak contrary to it, we set other things in motions."Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit"(Proverbs 18:21NKJV). The words people say wield great power. Also James tells us, "For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body"(James 3:2NKJV). Here we know that the word perfect means mature.

That opens another door...many will say I'm not perfect instead of confessing what the Word of God say,"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new"(2 Cor 5:17KJV). One point as we enter in 2011, We need to be mindful of what we say. If it doesn't bring glory to God, then we should not be saying it. Enjoy your blessings.

The Mission of the Servant- December 19, 2010 Sunday School Lesson

Please read this lesson for December 19, 2010 careful then, ask yourself how can I minister to the poor? Our Greatest Servant was none other than Jesus Christ Himself. He was the perfect example of a servant. "But made himself of no reputations, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man,He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross"(Philippians 2:7-8 KJV). He was not selfish but He emptied Himself in that He assumed a servant nature and appeared in the likeness of men; and having been recognized in the outward form of man, He humbled Himself as an act of obedient until death, even death by crucifixion. He was recognized by many as a mere man, but He was even more than that He was still the Son of God.

I know it's cold throughout the country now, but you can still read your Sunday School lesson. It is taken from Isaiah 9:7, 11:1-8 still in Isaiah. Enjoy your blessings.

Get rid of the parasites

Do you have parasites holding on to you? First of all let's look at what's a parasite. Webster defines it as one who habitually takes advantage of the generosity of other. It's a noun. Parasites caused the mind to be cloudy. Christians can not hear or think clearly from God with these parasites hanging on to them. Are you connected to a parasite? Or a foreign god? Are you unequally yoked with an unbliever? Are you living a double standard? Are you in the down low? Are you in an alternate lifestyle?

My friend, all of these are parasites that are hindering your anointing. You can be free if you want to. Jesus came to set the captive free. All you got to do is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior.
If you are already saved, then you need to stand up and shake these parasites off of you. Rebuke them and tell them they got to go. You refuse to have them hanging on to you anymore. Please repent for allowing them to hang around. All of us need to get rid of those toxic people around us. They make your headache and irritates you. Praise the Lord.

You got to get rid of them because God Word says,"Can two walk together , except they be agreed?"(Amos 3:3). If you are a committed Christian avoid organizations with little gods. That's a parasite that hinders you from hearing from God clearly. Some might say, I hear from God. Yes, you probably does but it is not as clear as it should be. Your mind is cloudy with things that should not be.

I can take that even further, Christian can not serve god and mammon."Thou shalt have no other gods before me"(Exodus 3:3). Just think about this. Most people fail to talk about sin. People, we must identify the problem before it can be fixed. Anyway you look at it...it's still parasites...hindering your relationship with the True and Living God.

The day has come for Christians to be committed and to stop playing with God. Just a word of wisdom for you to think about. This week I ministered on the subject "Purge yourself of parasites". It was an awesome Word that many were blessed. It's God that get all of the glory. It's my prayer that you too will be blessed.
