Way of Peace

"Lest he who hears it expose your shame, and your reputation be ruined"(Proverbs 25:10 NKJV).

Settling matters peaceable and privately can prevent escalation in public, where many times things can be misconstrued, a person's reputation can be slandered, or even violence can result.  The example given in this verse is about a person who reveals someone else's secret.  When the person learns of the indiscretion, the shame suffered by the guilty party leads to a bad reputation that is difficult to overcome.  In this case the reputation and friendship were ruined.

Wisdom dictates that we should always seek to maintain peace and not to violate one's trust. Exercising wisdom in building relationships is very important. Just a word of wisdom and have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides. website:http:// www.ruthplace.com

We as Christians should always remember to love God, love others, and love self. Let’s look at self-love.  In Romans, Paul argues for an honest self appraisal: “for I say, through grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to thin, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith”(Romans 12:3NKJV).  The purpose of self-love is to free us from preoccupation with self so that we can concentrate on others.

The attitude of Christians should be loving themselves and loving others.  If we begin to hate ourselves, we will start to hate others too. We cannot resign from the human race, but we can purpose in our hearts to be like Christ.

During this Christmas season let us think about our brothers and sisters who are facing challenges in their life.  You do not have to be guilty of a thing, but all of a sudden you find yourself facing difficult times. I thank God that I visited a nursing home and shared love with many of my brothers and sisters. It is my prayer all during the Christmas season that many of us will share with other brothers and sisters.  We do not have to always give a gift to someone that we know. Why not take the attitude of Christ and remember that all souls are important to God.
From my family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. From the author of Sin Abides, Annie Dennis Eskridge, website:http://www.ruthplace.com. Enjoy the blessings of the Lord.

Contemporary Church

Many in today’s society want to have a contemporary church instead of the Holy Ghost Spirit filled and led by the Holy Spirit.  Now, you are wondering what I mean by making such statement. Well, my friend we see a drastic change in the way many respect the House of the Lord. They have no respect for the True and Living God.  Just recently President Obama had a concert at the White House of Country and Western entertainers.  Guess what? They all were dressed as if they were going before someone with authority.  Everyone that performed did not have on jeans and baggy pants, but the men had on suits and the ladies on dresses. Yet, Christians are ashamed to dress when they go before the True and Living God. We have gone in the wrong directions.  God has more power than any person on this planet. I have a lot of respect for our President, but He does not have more authority than the True and living God.

Yet many today say we can dress any kind of way.  The way you dress carries a spirit and you need to understand that. You need the mind of Jesus Christ so you can bring glory to His Name and not the name of the world. You can see older women with a dress on shorter than their daughters. They give excuses for the way they dress by saying, ‘this is a new generation and this is how they do things. Yes, and you keep on going that way you be disappointed.

To serve God and they are so insecure with their faith. It is the differences in us that will make the world want to know why we are so different. But lately the church have been trying to act and look like the world.

So, we cannot dress any kind of way and look like the world if we are saved and want to draw the world to use. The Contemporary churches have lost the significant of the altar of God. The sanctuary is the House of God, but the Contemporary Church has lost its power of the altar. The altar signifies a relationship with God.  The altar would inspire worship.  Right now many are like the children of Israel instead of God’s children. When we understand the altar we will look up to God and when we understand it, then we are moving in the right direction.

Just think about this song, my faith looks up to thee O Lamb of Calvary. This song should remind you that I am not here for your opinion.  When you are around God’s altar there should be a shift in your spirit.  The song itself will cause you to leave all of those attitudes somewhere other than in the church. People, we should be able to know who you serve because of your actions.

All of God’s children are in covenant with God; we need to be on the altar of God and not man.  There is a Bible coming out referring to God as the He/she God.  We need to be faithful to the True and Living God and do not waste your money in buying such Bible. God is not a he/she God that goes against the Word of God itself. “The Bible clearly tells us, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus”(Gal 3:28NKJV).  This context of this verse is justification by faith in Christ Jesus.

We should not allow anyone to pull us away from Biblical truth.  Apostle Paul has written letters to the church with all the things we need to know and how we should live. According to Hebrews 12:14,"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord"(nkjv). Without holiness no man shall see the Lord, so then what is the problem? Do we want to see the Lord or not?
Just want to give you something to think about.  Enjoy the blessings from the Lord. I am half way through the Doctoral Program and thanks for your prayers.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...Email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Do Not Worry

“Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV).
Apostle Paul forbid the Christians from worrying.  This does not mean to dismiss legitimate concerns.  The solution is to undue anxiety is prayer in every things.  The way to be free of anxiety is to be prayerful in all things.  God is eager to hear our requests and they are to be accompanied with thanksgiving.
Then we can look at another Scripture written where Jesus is speaking, “Therefore I say unto you do not take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.  Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”(Matt 6:25 KJV).  Here Jesus deals with those who are worrying. He tells them to do not be anxious.  We should not be so disturbed about material needs that we distrust God and are distracted from faithfully doing the will of the Lord.  Anxious care is the direct opposite of faith.  Even the poor are not to worry about what they should eat, drink or wear. When we worry we deprive ourselves from the spiritual blessings of God. We are to cast all our cares on Him for He cares for us.
As we approach Thanksgiving we should not worry about what we are going to eat just give God all of the praises because we are able to celebrate this time of giving thanks. Christians should be giving thanks every single day for the blessings of the Lord. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.  Website:www.ruthplace.com or email me at:areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Forgiveness

The power of forgiveness promotes reconciliation between God and humankind.  The power of forgiveness allows us to heal from the past, the present, and the future.  It also promotes inner peace. “When I kept silence my bones waxed old through my roaring all the daylong” (Psalm 32:3KJV). Once we forgive those who have wronged us then we receive an inner peace. Forgiveness not only promotes peace, it also sparks joy. This is true whether we are forgiving someone or we are being forgiven. In order for us to receive the fullness of joy, we must be the first to say, I am sorry in many cases.
Many feel forgiveness should be earned but that is not scriptural approach.  Scripture encourages us to forgive unconditionally, repeated over and over until the issue has been made right.  As Christians we should take every opportunity to walk in forgiveness with all that we know have wronged us. We should take every opportunity to extend forgiveness as a Christian duty (Excerpts  taken from the Sunday School Lesson for November 6, 2011).
    A PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS
Father, In the Name of Jesus, I make a fresh commitment to You to live in peace and harmony—not only with my brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ, but with my friends, associates, neighbors, family, and co-workers, too.
I let go of all bitterness, resentment, envying, strife, and unkindness in any form. I give no place to the devil, In the Name of Jesus.
Now Father, I ask Your forgiveness.  By faith I receive it.  I am cleansed from all unrighteousness through Jesus Christ. As I forgive and release all who have wronged and hurt me, I ask You to forgive and release them.  Deal with them in Your mercy and loving kindness.
From this moment on, I set myself to walk in love to seek peace, to live in agreement, and to conduct myself toward others in a manner that is pleasing to you.
It is written in Your Word that the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. I believe that Your love flows out from me to everyone I come in contact with. In Jesus’ Name, I receive it done.  Amen.

Remember it is peaceful when you walk in forgiveness with all men. Annie Eskridge, author of Sin Abides. website: www.ruthplace.com or email me at arekridge@sbcglobal.net

The Valley

Psalm 23:4,”Yea, though I walk though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Have you found yourself wondering in the valley of despair? You wonder through the valley with no one in sight to rescue, but when you called on the Name of Jesus. He will send someone to rescue you, to guide you and to direct your path, so you could get out of that valley.
Are you lost and in need to find rest with restoration? To make it short and simple, you just lost your way. We all have experienced the valley of the shadow of death that can be distressing times, sickness, trials and hardships in our lives. But the Lord, who protects us, can lead us through the dark and difficult valleys to eternal life with Him.  There is no need to fear according to 1 Cor 15:25-27.  You are with the Good Shepherd who is always with us even in difficult situations.  It is His rod and His staff that will rescue, protect, and guide the sheep. The Shepherd is over the sheep to guide them into safety just like the Lord protects us.
Just remember that the Lord is always there to protect His children.  He does not leave us, we forget to call on Him.  Just a word of wisdom today, so do not forget to call on Him when you are going through trials and disappointments.  Enjoy the blessings of the Lord.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, website:http://www.ruthplace.com and email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Can we remain pure in today's world

Can believers stay pure in an impure world?

My friend, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again to redeem mankind, then the answer to that question is, yes.  But, if you have doubts and really is struggling with that question.  We can look at several things that will help you.

1. We can stay pure in an impure world by being living carefully according to God’s Word (Psalm 119:9), and by hiding the Word of God in our hearts (Psalm 119:11).

2. We can stay pure in an impure world by making the conscious choice not to lust (Job 31:1).

3. We can stay pure in an impure world by walking under the control of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-25).

4.  We can stay pure in an impure world by fleeing sexual temptations and pursuing righteousness (2 Timothy 2:22).

Even though the Thessalonians were living in a sexually charged culture, Apostle Paul urged them to abstain from all sexual immorality. “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor” (1 Thess 4:3-4NKJV).

The generation of today has a different attitude toward church and how it should be.  But the Word of God has never changed on how we should live. So, my friend there is no new thing when it comes to the Word.  I admit the method which we present the Gospel of Jesus Christ may have changed, but never the Word of God.

Whether it is now or thousands of years from now, the Word of God still tells us to live pure for the Lord. Christians cannot live any kind of way if they expect God to bless them. Sometimes we might have to fast and pray and seek God's face when we are faced with a situation.

If, You Want Peace of Mind

In today's society we suffer from many things, but in the Word of God there is peace. Here is a list of things if, you want peace of mind.

 1. Count your blessings, not your troubles.  Keep in mind that other people does not need your troubles.  They have enough of their own.
2. Live one day at a time.  We can control and conquer any sin if we live one day at a time( James 4:13-15).
3.  Learn to be a giver and not a taker.  If you are not getting out of life what you want, it may be that you are expecting to get instead of give(Luke 6:39).
4. Be a good seeker and not a fault finder(Matthew 7:1-5).
5.  Pray every single day and ask for guidance(Luke 18:1).
6. Do at least one good deed each day, As we plant the seed of goodness and it will produce after its kind(Acts 10:33).
7.  Let nothing hinder your peace.  We let too many things destroy our life(Phil 4:7).
8. Practice the habits that will bring glory to God.  The road to hell is paved with good intentions(2 Cor 6:1-2).
9.  Learn to laugh an learn to cry. Over 700 percent of all physical ills could be overcome if we could learn to laugh and cry at the appropriate time(Romans 12:15).
10.  Learn to practice good habits. Learn to smile (Phil 4:4).

Praying For Your Children

Scripture revealss the Father's will for His children and provides guidelines to help parents pray for their sons and daughters.  Parents should pray:
    1.  That our children will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth(1 Tim 2:3-4).
    2.  That Jesus Christ be formed in our children(Gal 4:19).
    3.  That our children- the seed of the righteous- will be delivered from the evil one (Prov 11:21, Matt 6:13).
    4.  That our children will be taught of the Lord and that their
peace will be great( Isa 54:13).
    5.  That our children will train themselves to discern good from
evil and have a good conscience toward God (Heb 5:14; 1 Peter 3:21).
    6.  That God's laws will be in their minds and on their hearts
    (Heb 8:10).
    7.  That our children will choose companions who are wise not fools nor sexually immoral, nor drunkards, no idolaters, nor slanderers, nor swindles (Prov 13:20; 1 Cor 5:110.
    8.  That our children will reamin sexually pure and keep themselves only for their spouse, asking God for grace to keep such a commitment(Eph 5:3,31-33).
    9.  That our children will honor us as parents(Eph 6:1-30.
    10.  That our children will prosper and enjoy physical health as they grow spiritually (3 John 2). There are many other Scriptures that could be added to this list, one which will change over time as God shows how to pray His Word. Ask God for specific promises to stand on during difficult situations.  We know this is a different generation but God's Word never change.  People do change but thanks be to God His Word never changes.     John R.W. Stott‘s Preacher’s Portrait is an eye opener. It’s a fresh and practical study of the terms employed in the New Testaments to describe the minister and the minister’s task. The author is an international respected pastor, teacher, and author, considers the character and role of the preacher as embodied in five key New Testament metaphors: the steward, the herald, the witness, the father, and the servant.
The Christian preacher is to expound the revelation which has been given to him for all. He is to preach in the power of the Holy Spirit. He is a steward over God’s people. Pastor Stott goes into detail explaining what a preacher is not and what he is. Stewards are to be found trustworthy as stated in 1 Cor 4:1-2. It also says they are stewards of the mysteries of God. In the first chapter of the same epistle he sums up the activity of the Christian preachers in the phrase, we preach {keryssomen, we herald} Christ crucified and declares that it is through this heralded proclamation {kerygma) that God is pleased to save those who believe (1 Cor 1:21, 23).
            Thy heralds brought glad tidings
            To greatest, as to least;
They bade men rise, and hasten
To share the great king’s feast.
The third word used for the Christian preacher in the New Testament is the word witness.

If  you are wondering what the words witness and testify means. Then you need to read the
book.  Pastor Stott’s goes into details.  He explains all five keys in a chapter each.
This book should be on the required reading list of every Bible school, college, and seminary. Believe me when I say it’s an eye opener.  Pastor Stott backs his claims up with Scriptures.
Lately, we have seen it all and heard it all.  This does not mean that it is right. It’s what God’s word says that should matter to the Christians. For many years Pastor Stott served as Rector of All Souls Church in London.   He has written numerous books include basic Christianity, Between Two Worlds, and Men with a message.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.  Website:http://www. ruthplace.com Email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net

God Hates Sin

The immorality of Jericho wa so bad that God' Word to His people was:"And the city (Jericho) shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to theLord. And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword"(Joshua 6:17a,21).

Again we see another act of disobedience.  Believe it or not God does act toward disobedience.  In today’s society, we tend to believe that we can pick and choose what we can and cannot do as God’s children.  We choose to follow God’s will with a little modification of our own. We must keep in mind that God’s plan is the best and we should not detour off His path.  God’s instructions may conflict with our own desires, but we must remember that His way is the only way.  We should reverence the House of the Lord. Now, you see men sitting in church with their hats on, saying and doing anything.  God is sick of the generation that will not reverence Him.

We need to read how God dealt with Israel for their idolatry behavior.  God is a forgiving God. It"s time out for disrespecting God in His house. Many have turned the House of Worship into some night club.  There’s no anointing because the music has been perverted. In Joshua 7, unfortunately, one person disobeyed God’s command to destroy all things and tried to hide his sin.  God had Joshua to deal with Achan and his entire family was destroyed because of what Achan did.

We must know who we represent. They way we dress carry a spirit. We can still dress casual and bring glory to God. It’s so important for all Christians to know when you go before a king to put your best forth.  We need to pray for this generation. Many people have started leaving the churches in the droves.  They go to church on Sunday and they leave church grieved because of what’s going on in the church.

My friend, we all need to set Godly examples for the future generation. Then, pray for them because they have gotten lost on their journey. There is no new Gospel because God is the same God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We should proclaim to our world that in spite of the hardships we face, God is still God Almighty. He never changes although we may but not God. We need to return to our first love and not be caught up with this bondage of sin.

God have warned many and they have refused to hear His voice.  We don’t want to end up like King Eglon in Judges 3. He oppressed God’s people for eighteen years and God send judgment to Him.  Judge Ehud delivered it with a sword in his side.  It’s my prayer that Christians will search their motives and make sure they are of a good report. Just wanted to share what was heavy on my heart.  Enjoy the blessings of the Lord.

Going before the King

Just recent this question was asked, “What has happened to the church?” My reply was what are you referring to? The conversation went from one thing to another.  The final outcome was, the lady is upset with the way her church is going. Why do we go to church dressed like we going to the park? The elderly lady gave me a lot to think about. Regardless of what some people want to do, we should never forget our home training.  Jesus Christ has never changed, so why are the church trying to look like the world?

One question to you… Are we going before the King? Then why we don’t present ourselves like we’re going before the True and Living God? If you go to a club you’re going to dress up, yet you want to go before God looking like a tramp. Where do we draw the line? Apostle Paul tells us, “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Cor 14:40 NKJV). It isn’t decent when we’re out of order with our behavior. We should be glorifying God in all things if we are a Christian.
You probably wonder what I say to the elderly lady.  Well I’m praying for her to find another church. It’s so important for her spirit not to be grieved when she goes to church. Just a comment for you to think about when you go to church.

Personal Responsibility

We as Christians are to make living sacrifices to God. One asked the question, how we do that? Well my friend the Word of God say, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”(Romans 12:1-2NKJV).

These two Scriptures tell us that God has good, acceptable and perfect plans for His children.  He wants us to be transformed people with renewed minds, living holy and obedient to Him. See God wants only what’s best for us, and because He gave His Son to make a new life possible for us. We should joyfully give ourselves as living sacrifices for his service and not animals.  God wants that from us.  We must daily lay aside our own desires to follow Him. We must trust Him to lead and guide us.

Christians, we have been called not to be conformed to this world. Also, we should not have the same behavior and customs as the world. Many Christians have wisely decided to follow Jesus all the way. But, we still have a few that haven’t decided to follow Jesus all the way. It’s only when the Holy Spirit renews, reeducates, and redirects our minds will they be truly transformed (see 8:5). It’s possible to follow Jesus if you make up your mind to do so. No one have to tell you what to do when you submit your will and your way to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Enjoy the blessings of the Lord. Email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net.

Practicing Greatness by Reggie McNeal

Practicing Greatness is a hard-hitting leadership book, not just a collection of inspirational thoughts. The depth and breadth of wisdom in this book is just short of unbelievable.  Good leaders aspiring to be great leaders will do well to read this book and allow it to probe and shape your life.

Somone once taught me a powerful lesson:"if you are without discipline, you are without power." Author McNeal has tapped into a power source for all leaders. In this book he covers  disciplines in seven areas: 1) self awareness, (2) self-management(3) self-development (4) mission (5) decision making (6) belonging and (7) aloneness. These areas are needed for great spiritual leader in the world today. We know, we owe all of our greatness to God but McNeal challenges us to some practical how to in a compelling new book. I highly recommend this book for all who aspire to become great leaders.  Grab hold of this book and begin a newly charged life today. Separate yourself

Today we've heard many Scriptures quoted. We ask ourselves if the interpretation given was correct or not. For instance,"therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you"(2 Corinthians 6:17NKJV). Apostle Paul wasn't encouraging isolation from unbelievers but discouraging compromise with their sinful values and practices.  He urges the Christians to maintain their integrity in the world just as Christ did.

We shouldn't separate ourselves from the world, but don't engage in what they are doing. That would be the perfect time to let your light shine.  Paul admonish the Christian that you are the light of the world. So just let the world see God's light shinning through you. The Great Commission is about soul's being saved, people being delivered and set free. Enjoy your blessing ! Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides. website:www.ruthplace.com.

"Ordinary People ExtraOrdinary Power

Hello to all of my friends. If you have noticed that I’ve not been blogging much lately.  Then there’s a reason. I’m officially in a doctoral program in another state.  So, I’ll blog when my schedule permits. Today, I’m going to share from John Eckhardt’s book, “Ordinary People Extraordinary Power.” Most of you know or have heard of him from his best-selling novel, Prayers That Rout Demons.
The book is a great eye-opener. The author addresses the apostles. Many really don’t understand their role in the church today. The early church gave us the perfect example of how a small group of committed Christians can affect their communities and change the world.  The apostles brought a change to the way the people of God lived. Wherever they went, what they believed transformed the culture.
Many churches today are embracing the truth of the apostolic ministry. Eckhardt believes that churches embracing this truth will see a change in their culture. We all know that Paul was an apostle that had been sent without the laying on of hands.  He was an apostle by the will of God, nor by the will of man.
Some believe that all of the original apostles are dead, but the office still remains here. He listed several ways you can identify a false apostle. (1) Enslave people 2 Corinthians 11:20 (2) devour (greedy and covetous) (3) take advantage (4) exalt themselves (5) are abusive (6) are greedy and exploitative 2 Peter 2:2-3(7) are like wolves Matt 7:15 and (8) malicious with their words Matt 12:34-35.
The qualification of an Apostle can be found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7of the Bible. This was a very interesting book.  From reading the book you will discover; (1) the characteristics of the apostle, (2) the proper role and function of the apostolic and (3) the ways God uses this gift in the world today. The book can be purchased from your local Christian book store or online. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides. Website: www.ruthplace.com email:areskridge@sbcglobal.net. Sin Does Abides

Today’s mainstream society is filled with sin. We can start reading the Bible in Genesis and see where and how it entered the earth realm. If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And it desire is for you, but you should rule over it? (See Genesis 4:7). Then we can look at “if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicle 7:14KJV). This verse alone tells us that man need to be humble that is confessing his sins. Then, repent and then turn away from ungodly ways, or comeback to God. He  would hear, forgive, and heal them.
Let’s go back to Genesis.  The one man Adam!  It was through him sin entered the world.  Sin brought death.  The result is that death is now a universal experienced.  This phrase because all sinned in our lives is referring to individual sins.  When people commit ungodly acts such as fornication, killing, stealing and even telling lies this is examples of sin abiding in the land. I will take it even further just recent; a man said that God was going to return on May 21, 2011.  We all know that is not what the Scripture says.  But, from this ungodly act many people sold their belongings and many gave their money away.  This was an act of sin abiding in the land. It was a scam that deceived many. It’s the devil that deceives mankind.

Another Scripture tells us, “therefore just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and their death spread to all men, because all sinned”(Romans 5:12NKJV). In closing just think about this verse, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NKJV). Keeping those two verses in mind this alone proves the point that sin does abide in the world today. Then ask yourself this question, why do we have jails and prisons today? If the people, all lived holy without sinning would we needs correctional facilities? If you are not sure about sin and its devastating effect then you really needs to read…Sin Abides…written by Annie Dennis Eskridge. Email areskridge@sbcglobal.net website: www.ruthplace.com.

Think About It!

We know that God will always be there in our time of trouble.  Then, are we willing to spend more time praising Him for who He is? God keeps His proimses to us even when we don't. "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold , I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful"(Revelation 21:5 KJV).God, seated on His throne and directs John to write down His words to restate that He meant what He said, "I am making everything new!(Rev 21:5). He means exactly that and we can see what He is doing now! We know that God is working on our behalf daily, all day long .  He is transforming us into the image of His dear Son (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV). He's getting you ready for the day when we will be completely new.

We know that God always complete all of His jobs. This is why He is the sovereign God, the Alpha and Omega, is the beginning and the ending of all things. This blog was written after reading the Sunday School lesson for May 22, 2011. This is just a brief statement, but Saints you need to read the entire lesson. It comes from Revelation 21:1-8.  But last Sunday's explained  the Great Multitude and why we wear white, as Saints of God.   Most people will not teach Revelation, so the Sunday School explored it for a while.

There are a lot of things we need to understand as Saints of the Most High God. White stands for purity. Once you start learning about the colors, then it would be good to think before putting on certain colors. Solomon tells us "wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding"( Proverbs 4:7 KJV). If you do not attend Sunday School, I recommend that you purchase a Sunday School book from a local Christian bookstore or order online. I really enjoy reading the lessons. Enjoy your blessings....Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...website: www. ruthplace.com. email ; areskridge@sbcglobal.net

CALLED TO BE SAINTS

“Unto the Church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and our”(1 Cor 1:2KJV).
Sanctified in Christ could mean made holy by virtue of our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Apostle Paul made reference to the Corinthians’ right relationship with God.  They were to set apart for God’s special use. His aim was to bring their lifestyle and actions in closer harmony with God’s expectations.
Then we can look at another Scripture where Jesus speaks, “do not be afraid.  Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me” (Matthew 28:10 NKJV).  Note: that even Jesus referred to His disciples as His brethren. So, Christians why are we referring to other Christians as, you guys?
Yet, many of us say, we attend a Word Church and we act like the world. If we are a Word Church then, why we cannot say what the Word of God says about all things?  Have you ever stopped to look up the word guy? I guarantee if you did ,you would not saying that word.
We can quote, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and we are snared by the words of our mouth” (Proverbs 18:21 and Proverbs 6:2). My next question would be , do we know what those two Scriptures means? If we do, then we should not say you guys unless we don't know what you are saying. We set things in motion with our mouth.
Just a thought for your to think about. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net website:http://www.ruthplace.com. Be Blessed

Walking in the Spirit

We have often heard, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16NKJV).
The only way to overcome the sinful desires (the flesh) is to live step-by-step in the power of the Holy Spirit as He works through our spirit. We should walk each moment by faith in God’s Word under the Spirit’s control.  It assures absolute victory over the desired of our flesh when we walk in the Spirit. The influence of the flesh energized by Satan in the life of the Christian should never be underestimated.    If we give the flesh free rein. It will direct our choices, making us do what we know we shouldn’t do. The conflict between the flesh and the Spirit is real. The desires of our flesh are at odds with the Holy Spirit desires for us; to be free from sin.
Another Scripture, “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 6:24 NKJV). Christians have been spiritually crucified with Christ. We don’t have to follow the values or desires of the world.  Only those who have mastered the sinful desires are able to keep their focus on God (see Jeremiah 9:23, Hebrews 12:1-3and John 17:3).

Apostle Paul exhorts the Galatians to walk in the Spirit because they are already living in the Spirit. The action that we take should be natural, but unfortunately we are at war with our flesh.    In order to, walk in the Spirit it means to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.  If you are following the Spirit’s lead, you will not become conceited, provoke other, or envy others.
Just something to think about as we go through the economic times. It’s so imperative for all Christians to walk in the Spirit. God knows exactly what we need and if we put our trust in Him, it’ll be alright. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.  website:http://www.ruthplace.com...email areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Set Apart for Service

"Sanctify them by Your truth Your word is truth" (John 17:17 NKJV).
Have you ever wondered exactly what this Scripture means? Well here is something for you to think about.  Sanctify means to set apart.  There are two ways to understand this:(1)as separate for holiness, or (2)as set apart for service.  According to the first view, Jesus was praying for the disciples to be kept from evil and then to advance in holiness.

Sanctification refers to the disciples mission, indicating that sanctify may mean that Jesus was setting apart His disciples for this. People's opinions may vary, and experiences are untrustworthy, but God's Word always remains true. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides. Website: http://www.ruthplace.com/.

Let's talk

Let's keep it real...We've  two people who are married.  What would they be doing or saying? I 'm praying that both would allow each to develop to their full potentials, so that they would become all that God intends for them to become.  As saints of God we should do all that we can to bring glory in all things. Have you ever stopped an ask your self what do I need to do to reflect the image of God in my marriage?

Each need to allow one another to be themselves as long as it doesn't go against the Word of God. Just like I share many times in the group or one-one counseling.  We 've to accept one another the way they are.  We can't change any one, but we can submit ourselves unto God and He's the only one that can change any one.

A marriage is made up of two imperfect people coming together to become one.  You get married, but you have to work at becoming one according to the Word of God. As couples we'll have problems but we must never loose sight that we have an advocate(the True and Living God) that we can go too. The Word of God tells us that  "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulteres God will judge"(Hebrews 13:3NKJV).

Many times the Support Group will help one another. Our Scripture for this year is "behold , how good and how pleasant it is  for brethren to dwell together in unity!(Psalm 133:4). If one part of the body hurts the entire body hurts. We can help one another in many ways when we're  led by the Holy Spirit. God will get the glory in all things. I share this to say there's a way to save your marriage if you want it saved.  Divorce shouldn't be the way if you truly loves the Lord and wants to bring glory to Him. If you're having problem in your marriage let's talk first. I'm willing to share testimonies of how marriages were saved. Just wanted to share from my heart.  One of my main goal is to help those who are hurting. Enjoy your blessings and remember nothing is too difficult for God to solve.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...areskridge@sbcglobal.net...website...http://www.ruthplace.com

Pigs in the Parlor-Ida Hammond

From time to time we look for a new book or we will reread one. Today it's about practical guide to deliverance. This is exactly what this book is all about I first read this book in the 80's and I decided to reread it. This book provides a straight forward explanation of demons and how they work. Believe me they do exist. I'm blessed that the book was first introduced to me by another intercessor.

It helped me to understand how demons works. I've been able to help others as well as myself to get delivered from the bondage of the adversary. Those who deny the kingdom of the adversay or it's existence lives in another world. The world that we live in have both evil and good. We all know that evil is a product of satan/adversary and the good comes from Our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.

Have you ever had evil thoughts in your head? If so, did you wonder where it came from? They're not always from the outside but from within us. Author Hammond in her practical handbook "Pigs In The Parlor",it offers valuable guide to how demons enter, if deliverance is needed, how deliverance is accomplished for others and self and how to retain deliverance . Then, she provides a list of demons that are found and their mates. All findings are supported with scriptures.

Some are embarrassed to admit the need for deliverance. Others have walked in agreement with certain spirits for so long that they don't want to change. All Christians don't really want to live in purity. So, if we don't want any pigs in our church it's up to us to change the situation. You can come in as a pig, but if you want a change you will not remain as a pig. If each would care for themself, then this place would be a better place for all. Great eye-opener. If you haven't read this book, why not make a small investment in a life changing book. It should be a classic by now. It can be ordered at your local christian bookstore or online. Testimony

This testimony begins with recognizing the bitterness and resentment a friend had in her heart for her husband. As she sit and listen to her Pastor teach last Sunday morning, and he simply said,"you need to stop being angry with your husband." She told me that she knew he wasn't talking about her. He continue his message for the morning and never mentioned it again. But she thought about it, repented and went up for prayer.

She called me the next day to talk. As always I gave her a scripture to confess and two things to do (1) Say the scripture daily (2) Change your confession regarding your husband. You should be speaking the Word of God over him daily.

Sister Jacqueline shared this testimony with me a coffee time.
I was glad because I was working on a project for my single friends. Apostle Paul said we should set our goal to please God.(2 Corinthians 5:9). We know there are different ways we can look at a marriage. Daily, we need to consider what we do and say and ask. Am I pleasing Jesus Christ or myself? It makes you think about the relationship.

Instead, most of us ask, Will this satisfy me? How can I be fulfilled? What will make me happy? I wonder what will happen if we asked this question. What suggestion, ideas and thoughts would please God in my marriage today? If we are to live out the New Covenant, we need to follow the words of Apostle Paul: "Those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again"(2 Corinthians 5:15NIV).

Just wanted to share a true testimony today. It's my prayer that someone would be blessed. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...www.ruthplace.com

One Marriage Under God by H. Norman Wright

By now most of you know that I volunteer my time with various Support Groups. One that's so dear to my heart is Engaged/Marriage Support. We discuss every area that are involved in a God ordained marriage. Well reading various books has played an important role. Today, I'm focusing on Author Wright's book...One Marriage Under God.

Our culture isn't only indifferent to marriage, but a bit hostile. It's no longer say that marriage is a good thing. The problem isn't a glitch in space but an attack on the foundation of the traditional family. We must keep in mind that marriage is a specific earthly example of God's eternal covenant with us. God doesn't quit and He doesn't want an imperfect married couple to quit either. The eye opener written by best selling author and educator H. Norman Wright cuts through the cultural confusion. Then, clarifies the institution of marriage as God originally created it,a beautiful, committed, eternal bond. The only option for anyone who's ever said I do: make it work, no matter what. This particular book will help you see things from God's perspective. Reading this book will be one of the best thing that you'll ever do for your marriage. I highly recommend this book. It can be purchased at your local Christian bookstore. Annie Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...www.ruthplace.com or email areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Love Your Enemies

One of the most challenging commands given by Jesus is to love your enemies. First, it was given in His sermon on the mount."You have heard that it was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse, you do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you"(Matt 5:43-44NKJV). This is Jesus speaking. Hate your enemies is not found in Moses writings. This principle was taken from Lev 19:18. In this passage curse here does not means profanity but when someone speaks negatively about or against a person.

Again it is mention in Jesus' sermon on the plain. "But I say to you hear:Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you"(Luke 6:27-28NKJV). Then, we see..."But love your enemies, do good and lend, hoping for nothing in return; And your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil"(Luke 6:35NKJV). Religious persecution was real when Jesus gave His command to love. Whether we accept it or not, it is still real today in this society. Christians are being persecuted for the teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Keep in mind that when we take it to heart and apply loving our enemies it can:(1)bless and transform our life and (2) it truly will make this world a better place for all. If you have questions about who is your enemy. It's a known fact when anyone who curses you, anyone who hates you, anyone who spitefully uses you and finally anyone who persecutes you. There are Scriptures to support this claim but that will be made known in the next blog so this will not be too lengthy. Enjoy the blessings of the Lord. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.

How many of us truly understand love? Probably no other dimension of human experience has been pondered, discussed, debated, analyzed, and dreamed about more than the nature or true love. New Testament Giving

Just recent many were disturbed by a video posted on facebook. However, It's my prayer that this blog will help many. I have researched the New Testament on giving and this what I found. It's true that many churches teach that the members should tithes. Some leaders have even gone as far as to tell the people they are cursed for not paying tithes. Well let's see what the Word of God has to say about this issue. The most detailed passage on giving in the New Testament is found in Second Corinthians Chapter 8:9. You can read it for yourself.

The primary reason that Apostle Paul addressed this topic was that false teachers in Corinth questioned his motives for ministry. They suggested that Paul was pocketing contributions earmarked for the poor believers in Jerusalem. The Corinthians had not donated to the cause. Paul gave a beautiful sermon on why and how believers ought to give. All should give a contribution for the cause of Christ.

We should give willingly (8:12;9:2) and should be cheerful, not grudgingly or of necessity(9:7). It is a privilidge to share in the work of God. There is no specified percentage or amount listed in the New Testament. Apostle Paul simply exhorted each member of the Corinthian church to give as he purposes in his heart(9:7). Our gift should be generous. We all are familiar with the story of the poor widow in Luke 21:1-4, she gave her leftovers. Giving is important because the way we handle material wealth is a barometer of our spiritual health.(Matthew 6:19-21). In closing we should not give to get, but Paul makes it clear that giving will lead to abundance. A cheerful giver will experience God's love in a special way. They will enjoy the spiritual blessing. If you want to tithe, you can, but this is what Apostle Paul wrote to the church in the New Testament. Personally, I like to give every chance that I can.

Jesus is not going to put anyone before a firing squad for not paying tithes. So, just pray for that particular person. Jesus showed compassion to His Children. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...www.ruthplace.com. Email: areskridge@sbcglobal.net Enjoy your blessings.

Walking in holiness -Psalm 133:1

Word of Wisdom for the People of God...We can't make a difference in the world if we are not together. God is calling His people to walk in holiness. That simply means we will give up the world and make a total committment to follow Jesus. It's time out for having a country club church mentality instead of a Holy Church.

We can't dwell together in unity until we are saying what the Word of God is saying. We must agree with the Word. Amos ask the question .."Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" We must be in agreement with the Word of God. We can't walk on two roads at the same time. One is a road that leads to destruction if you are trying to be in the world and then on Sunday, you want to be holy. That's doubleminded and it's time to give it up."A double minded man is unstable in all his ways"(James1:8NKJV). Let's be real. Time is out for churchgoers. We need some committed soldiers that is committed to Jesus Christ and His teachings. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides....email areskridge@sbcglobal.net. website:www.ruthplace.com.

Let's Keep It Real(Hebrews 12:1-2)

Today, I reread a friend's blog. It's true that many Christians doesn't take their walk with the Lord serious. The Scripture tells us to lay aside all weights."Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God"(Hebrews 12:1-2NKJV).

We see the cloud of witnesses which is the people of faith as mention in Hebrews chapter 11. They are not watching us, but they are testifying the truth of the faith. The word weight means anything that hinders your walk. Looking means our eyes should be fixed or focus on Christ instead of our own circumstances. Christ had done everything necesary for us to keep our faith. He is our model. He has set an excellent for us to follow. He didn't focus on agonies of the Cross, but on the crown, not on suffering, but the reward to follow. We should be doing the same thing. I know it's not easy, but Saints we got to work at it. It might hurt, but I would rather give up all ungodly activities to follow Jesus.

The Word of God tells us "THOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GOD BEFORE ME"(Exodus 20:3NKJV). God is the only living God. He and He alone must be worship. Just think about that. We are not suppose to pledge to nothing but to the True and Living God. You can remain in those things, but it hinders the anointing from being strong. You just can't serve two gods. if you want a strong anointing on your life, then give up the organization. I love you all, I want the best for you and your ministry.

Saint, I had to give up the other organizations when I was younger. I had a father that was a Minister of the Gospel, who told me I couldn't belong. I thank God for what my father taught me because he went to be with the Lord. Let's keep it real. I still love my friends and I pray for them to be set free from whatever is holding them in those organization. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...website.http://www.ruthplace.com

Thinking Right When Things Go Wrong- John C. Hutchison

With the heart of a pastor and the mind of a Bible teacher, John Hutchison provides guide that helps Christians understand biblical passages about trials and suffering. Beautiful in its concept and shape and scriptural fidelity, "Thinking Right When Things Go Wrong" tells us how joy and woe are woven find to strengthen our faith and glorify God.

One thought there is no question that God's preferred method of evangelism is to emboy Christ's message in people like you and me. That is why Christ came to the earth. If you are like me you would probably avoid the experience of pain whenever possible. If you are a Christian and live accordingly, you will be persecuted, hated, and rejected by other people. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do wtih the one we represent, namely Jesus Christ. This book gives biblical wisdom for surviving tough times. This is a very interesting book for all Christians. You can order online or from any local Christian book store. Dr. Hutchison was one of my professor at Talbot Theological Seminary.it was an honor to sit under his teaching. I highly recommend this book. Hosea 4:6 NKJV-Lack of Knowledge

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me. Because you have forgotten the law Your God, I will also forget your children."

This Scripture has often been taught to the members that we are destroyed due to lack of knowledge. The passage means due to Israel's religious leaders that caused the people's downfall. The priest failed to teach God's law to the people in other words, God's Word.(Mal 2:7). In the Old Testament, the prophets was commonly called a Messenger of the Lord. This is the only time that the priest are called the Messengers of the Lord.

Yes,if the people aren't taught the Word of God correctly by the priestly line, then God will deal with His priest. As a result, the priests would be the special object of God's judment. He would terminate the priestly line.

How to Plead the Blood- Whyte

Just recently I received an email from a young lady. She was so confused from what had been said at church. She had been reared in a Pentecostal Church now, she is in a different one. Her parents would always plead the Blood of Jesus over her before she went to school. Her present church does not believe it is in the Bible.

Well, I don't debate what is in the Bible or what someone else believes. I have always heard the Old Saints pleading the Blood of Jesus over me as a child. Pleading the blood stirs up the backslider and offend the uncrucified flesh or the carnal believer. But in spite of opposition, the use of the blood will clean up any church or prayer group and make way for the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. Oh, the power of the blood of Jesus!

In 1906, they greatly honored the blood in those days and would sang,
"Under the blood, the precious blood; Under the cleansing, healing blood; Keep me, Savior, from day to day, Under the precious blood." Just from singing and mention of the blood in those days there was no end to the revelations of the power and move of God.

Pastor Whyte understood the Blood of Jesus and shares it in his book. His revealing exploration of the blessings to be found in Christ's blood. As you delve deep into the newly revised and expanded version of the classic best-seller,"The Power of the Blood.' You will find out how to experience God's complete forgiveness, become spiritually empowered, equipped, and energized. Then break the terrifying grip of fear and torment, create an atmosphere for miracles and defeat oppression, addictions and sickness.

Then, for those who says it's not in the Bible, he uses Scripture to prove his points. Unconfessed sin is never under the blood; only when it is confessed and forsaken are we covered and protected. This blog was taken from the book...How to Plead the Blood ...by H. A. Maxwell Whythe. It is my prayer that you will obtain a copy of the book. Whyte has sold over 500,000 copies. "I Shall Not Die:Living a Psalm 118:17 Existence

"I Shall Not Die"written by Kendra Norman Bellamy. It is so powerful. The book was God ordained. This book is a true testimony of what true love between a man and a woman should be. As I read this book I could see Stand by God's Man being portrayed. Then it became a reality that Mrs. Bellamy was fulfilling her marriage vows. I strongly believe Mrs. Holmes (at that time)was steadfast in the Word of God. God put a shield of protection around her and her daughters due to her faithfulness to Him.

Author Bellamy had to write this story. Tests and trials will come but it's what we do when we are faced with them. Our faith will be shaken but we must remain steadfast as she did. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

We truly can't say what we will do in a situation like Mrs. Bellamy. It took a strong Christian woman to deal with a husband being diagnosis with Aids. For some they probably would have thrown in the towel. But, thanks be to God this young lady became stronger from her husband's illness. She had to be strong for her daughters. We must keep in mind that test and trials comes to make us strong.

God had a plan for Mrs. Bellamy, so she had to travel that road. From this work we can see God's purpose for her life being fulfilled. As she shares the Word of God in her writing it will minister to many. She has just begun on a journey that will take her into many avenues that God has designed for her. If you are looking for a good book that is straight to the point then you need "I Shall Not Die: Living a Psalm 118:17 Existence". It's easy to read and it is well written from a Christian standpoint. You might shed a few tears but that's alright. Thanks Mrs. Bellamy! The book can be found at Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles or try www.KendraNormanBellamy.com. Enjoy! Ways to Overcome Jealousy

Dr. Kendall hits a bull's eye again! He has written over fifty books based on the Word of God. In Jealousy- the Sin no one talks about- he also list thirteen ways to overcome jealousy. I really like the way he exposes and dissect a most potent enemy of our contentment, he has given new insights. He tells us how to recognize it then how do we fight it. This is not just in the church, but it's in society as a whole.

"It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry...the important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice"(Philippians 1:15,18). He give thirteen propositions that will bring victory over jealousy, whether it be your own jealousy or you are making them jealous.(1) Admit it to yourself. Don't live in denial.(2)Confess it to God 1 John 1:9 then Psalm 139:2.(3) Practice total forgiveness Luke 23:34 and 1 Corinthians 13:4. (4)Choose God's praise of you over the compliments of people. John 5:44 and 1 Peter 5:6. (5) Anticipate your reward at the judgment seat of Christ. John 5:44 and I Cor 9:24. (6) Accept your calling. 1 Cor 4:7 (7) Accept your inheritance. Psalm 47:4. (8) Remember that God decides what people should think of you. 2 Cor 12:6.(9) Let God vindicate you. Deut 32:35 and 1 Sam 17. (10) Develop a godly jealousy. (11) Set your sight on heaven, not things of the earth. Col 3:1-2. (12) Be thankful 1 Thes 5:18 and Phil 4:6 and (13) Just praise the Lord. Heb 13:15. Apostle paul advice the church to"Rejoice in the Lord always"(Phil 4:5). We are reminded to give praise in all things. When we praise the Lord, as the praises are going up then the blessings will come down. I strongly believe that the Lord is speaking a message through Dr. Kendall about jealousy. It will ruin your life. God loves us so much. He wants us to live a victorious overcoming life. This is why we need to be warn against jealousy. I've read several of Dr. Kendall's book and they have truly blessed me. Many have helped me to see me and then to correct what I didn't like.It will be a blessing to you. You can purchase the book from any Christian bookstore. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.

Praise and adoration

We give all of the praises and adoration for all that God's doing in my life. As all Believers of Jesus Christ prayer is the word for this day. As Christians we should be committed to prayer. If we ever needed to pray now is the time, that it's needed so much. Apostle Paul admonish us to "pray without ceasing"(11 Thessalonians 5:17KJV).

This passage alone tells us we should never get tired of praying. It's good to pray before making all decisions. It's my desire to be obedient to the call of God for my life. A life of prayer is so important, so that we will become more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Not my will be done, but His will to be done in my life. Then, I ask that He would create in us a clean heart, so that we can be used by Him. Enjoy your blessings for years to come. Celebrate the late Dr. Martin L. King Jr.

Today is a great day for many Americans. It's a national holiday for a civil rights leader, Dr. Martin L. King Jr. He was first of all a preacher, the son of a preacher, and the grandson of a preacher- all served the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He was trained at Morehouse College in Atlanta(a leading Black College in the nation) and Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania, and he received his PhD in Systematice theology from Boston University.

African Americans or Blacks were denied equal rights in the South. They had known laws that prohibited Blacks from mixing with white people. Those laws were known as "Jim Crow Laws." Blacks were not allowed to share any facilities with the whites. For example,I remember we couldn't eat in the same restaurant, the water fountains were label, white only and black only. The same thing applied to the rest rooms, and we couldn't ride in the same part of the bus.We had to sit in the back of the bus even if there were sits available in the front, we weren't allow to sit there. Yet, the young blacks could serve in the military, yet weren't respected in their home, the deep south.

Dr. King saw a need for a change. He believed his concern for civil rights grew directly from his faith. He used the nonviolent approach that was similar to what happened in the early church where the Greek-speaking had problem with those who spoke Hebrew. The Greek speakers complained that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. This was brought to the attention of the apostles, they acknowledge it and corrected it. Dr. King believed that if he could show that blacks were being treated unjustly the Supreme Court would respond.

He led many demonstrations as he proved to the nation that black people were being treated injustice. Many people throughout these United States were a part of the demonstrations. It was an honor to be a part of the civil rights movement following the leadership of the late Dr. Martin L. King Jr. So, today we celebrate the legacy that you left for us. Pray for one another 1 Tim 2:1-2

Apostle Paul admonish us to pray for al men."Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence"(1 Timothy 2:1-2NKJV).

In order to pray this prayer effective we need to understand what is being asked here. First of all from this passage we know that prayer is an important part of the church. I don't care what denomination or non-denomination. Prayer is a vital part. We see parts identified as four types of prayer:(1)supplications request for specific needs;(2)prayers is a word embracing different kinds of prayers, confession and adoration; (3) intercessions prayers to God on behalf of others; (4) giving of thanks refers to prayers or praise.

Please pray for the entire Body of Christ daily. Let us bind the works of the flesh and we command every Christian to operate as Jesus Christ has commanded us. We ask the Father God to forgive us for anything that we may have said or done to bring dishonor to your Name. Father, we cover all leaders with the Precious Blood of Jesus and we pray that they will be Godly men and women. Then, we ask that Father God would expose and remove anyone that is in the minister that should not be. Father it's our prayer that your Children will walk blameless before you and continue to bring Glory to Your Name. In the Name OF Jesus we pray,Amen. www.ruthplace.com or http://anniedennis.webs.com Enjoy your blessings...Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...The subject that no one wants to talk about.

Two Highways- Repost- Which one are you on?

On yesterday as I was driving the freeway a thought came into mind. As we sometimes see two or free freeways interchanging. Man has drawn a plan by God's design for us to travel to various destination. But this plan has many freeways or highways. When we look at that from a spiritual standpoint, we can see only two highways: We can look in God's Holy Word at one Scripture.Isaiah 35:8'"And an highway shall be there; and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those, the wayfaring men, though fools shall not err therein"(KJV).

Then I decided to read another translation: "A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness, The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And fools will not wander on it"(NASB). From reading these two Scriptures we can understand that there must be two highways, but as Christians, we need to be on the Highway of Holiness. All unclean things can't get on this one, they have to get on the other highway that leads to destruction.

So, my question is what highway will you ride on? Jesus Christ will protect those who are on the Highway of Holiness, but there is no protection for the highway of destruction. I'm going to ask you again what highway will you get on? My friend for those who are not yet saved, you need to make a quality decision, what highway do I want to ride?
If you want to ride the Highway of Holiness and have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior then repeat this:Father, God you said in your Word, that if I would confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now find you a good Bible teaching Church with a good Sunday School. You can attend a church that doesn't have a Sunday School, but if you want to grow in the Bible a church with a Sunday School will be a great help. Be sure to attend Church and Bible Study. Get you a good Study Bible and start reading at John, a chapter of Proverbs a day and some of Psalm. A Thought for Christian Authors

Please remember as we write there are certain things we should keep in mind. If you are a Christian fiction writer, please make sure the book bring glory to God. Just last week I was trying to encourage a pastor to let his members read a certain book. His reply was, "I've read some of those books called Christian fiction and I have not seen any different in those and the others(non-Christians books)."

I was quiet for a moment, but I reread this particular book and I understood where he was coming from. Please let's not just write a book any kind of way and call it Christian fiction. We should make sure it line up with the Word of God. I know many write books really for the world because some of the material that they put in their books. Some things Christians should not do in a church. We can't just say anything in a book and call it a Christian book. Just wanted to share this from the heart. I always ask this question, what would JESUS DO? It's true we want to sale books, but what's the message that we are writing. Another Romance Writer also made the same comment several months ago. From hearing the Pastor voice his concern, it sounded identical to what the bestselling author shared.

You can put what you want in your book, but if it's junk don't call it Christian fiction. Just call it fiction or non-fiction. We need to take Jesus more serious than what we are doing. I'm going to screen the books that I read this year more careful and stop just buying any thing. Enjoy your blessings. If it's fiction written from a Christian perspective it should glorify God all the ways. Enjoy your blessings....Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.

Can a cat go to heaven?

Just recently a young lady shared something that was very shocking. Someone had made a statement that their cat died. The lady grieved over a year about her cat dying. Well, the story goes on and on, but the sadest thing was when the lady said, Jesus told her that her cat was in heaven. After hearing this she got over being grieved.

Well, this is no joke. A lady actually made this statement. But, the Word of God says,"That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart, and shall believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"(Romans 10:9 KJV). How can a cat be saved?

Let's look at another Scripture"who knows the spirit of the son of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?"(Eccl 3:21NKJV). People and animals differ; their bodies go back to the dust from which they came, but the human spirit is immortal.
I'm not being funny, but I can't find no Holy Scripture to support this claim. Many of you have heard the same thing, so just pray for this lady. She's a Christian, but what she said doesn't line up with the Word of God. In cases like these we need to pray for her understanding of the Word of God. Millions listen to her probably daily. This is why we need to be rooted and grounded in the Word of God, then have a church home. Monitor what you watch and hear, if it doesn't line up with sound teaching, then turn it off. It only makes you confused.

Thought for the Day- Jealousy

R.T. Kendall's "Jealousy, the Sin No One Talkd About." Jealousy is something we all have to deal with. Rooted in fear and insecurities, it has damaged many relationships. It may be hard for us to recognize and even harder to overcome. The book deals with jealously that bedevils us in three ways(1)coping with jealousy in ourselves(2)coping with people who are jealous of us, and(3) coping with the fact that we make other jealous.

Then, Kendall takes us on a journey:(1)how jealous originated, (2) how God uses jealousy to prepare us and(3) how to overcome jealous. Finally, he address Godly jealous. This is a bull's eye!. He deals with it head on! We neglect to address this message at our peril. But, he does an outstanding job exposing both the cause and the cure. The author combines biblical depth with personal candor and delivers a stunning challenge to us all. A must read by the entire world, Christians and non-Christians should have a copy of this book. Remember, we must first identify the problem before we can deal with it. This is a big problem in the church today. Not just one church but it's in all churches across the board.

It can be purchased at your local Christian bookstore. This is an eye opener for mainstream society. R. T. Kenall is best-selling author of "TOTAL FORGIVENESS...Enjoy..Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.
