A Dictionary Of Christians- author unknown

1. Pillars- worship regularly, give time and money, use their talents.
2. Supporters- give time and money if they like the Pastor and the Treasurer.
3. Leaners- use the Church for funerals, baptism and marriages, but no time or money to support the Church.
4. Working Leaners- work but do not give money.
5. Specials- help and give occasionally for something that appeals to them.
6. Annual or Easter Birds- dress up, look serious and go to Church on Easter or some annual occasion.
7. Sponges- take all blessings and benefits, even the Lord's Suppoer, but give no mone to support the Church.
8. Tramps- go from Church to Church but support none.
9. Gossips- talk freely about everyone except Jesus.
10. Scrappers- take offense, criticize, an fight.
11. Orphan- children sent by parents who do not set them an example.
12. Backsliders- go back and walk no more with Jesus.(John 6:66)
13. Hypocrites- are leaners who say they are better than Church goers.

Establishing and Maintaining Our Identity

"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life"(2 Cor 3:5KJV).

Jesus' ministry wouldn't have been very effective and His legacy would have done little to distinguish Him from the founders and leaders of the false religions of the world if He had been guilty of the same things that He condemned in others. The same is true for us. Our belief in Jesus Christ sets us apart. Many will hate us because the teachings we follow bring about conviction and lead them to the need for a eprsonal savior. Although many desire to be like us, they want what we have, peace, spiritual strength and faith, but they do not want the true and Living God. Remember the world hate us and yet desires to be like us. We should embrace our identity as Christians.  As Christians, what we believe and what we confess must be manifested in our daily lives.

Word of Wisdom

We should regard the chapters of Proverbs as a wise collection of the Holy Spirit as the Ultimate source.  Yes, King Solomon penned the collections but without the Ultimate Sources, it would have not been possible.  The Proverbs are just as timely to be observed today as when they were first given.

We need to be able to identify the benefits of Go’s Word. In Proverbs Chapter 3, Solomon advises his son. Solomon knew the importance of his son keeping a persistent and continual regard for God’s precepts, promises, and provision, then he would led a life of unspeakable advantages. “My son forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commands; for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you” (Proverbs 3:1-2NKJV).

Solomon admonishes his son/daughter to retain the commandments and by doing so, your reward from being obedience is a long and peaceful life. Just think about it Saints where are we? This is a word of wisdom. Recently a relative shared the message of Jesus Christ with a family member.  To my surprise they rejected the Word of God and today they are no longer with us.

It is better to live for Jesus at all times, if you fall, then go the Scriptures, repent pick up the pieces and stay in fellowship with Jesus. Yes, no one is perfect, but we purposely to live after holiness do what the Word of God says and you will have no problem.  God is a forgiving God and we too must be forgiving at all times. Love

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him"(John 3:16-17NIV).

The entire Gospel of Jesus Christ comes to a focus in this verse. God's love is not static or self-centered; it reaches out and draw others in. Here, God sets the pattern of true love, the basis for all love relationships-when someone loves you dearly, they are willing to give freely to the point of self-
sacrifice.  God paid dearly with  the life of His only Son, the highest price He could pay. Jesus accepted  our punishment, paid the price for our sins, and offered us a new life that He bought for us. We should  share the Gospel with others in love like Jesus.  Many times we will give up our own comfort and security so that other might come to know God's love by receiving the gift of salvation. Just a Word of Wisdom

Today many are upset with President Obama’s supporting gay marriages.  Well, my friends, the President is the President of all people.  We, as a nation wanted equal rights but, we wanted it on our term. 

Let us think for a moment and define sin. It means going against a moral law. Then, lying, adultery, fornication and backbiting and you know the rest, is just as bad as homosexual. There is no level of sin: it all is sin.

Apostle Paul tells us to "follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord"(Hebrews 12:14KJV). The question is have you found yourself repenting for an ungodly act that you committed? then, why are you going against the President statement?

We, as Christians should love all people and hate sin. God gave the Church stewardship over the earth(Genesis 1:26). What we see today and what we hear reflects the Church. This tells me that the Church has a problem. From a survey that was taken by the Francis Shaeffer Leadership Development Center only  26 to 27 percent of our leaders have daily devotions.  They feel that it is not necessary.

This is just to provoke many to think before you throw a rock at the President.  Many of us do what we want too and we say what we want too and this is no different.  One thing we all can do is to pray for our President and all who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life.

Word of Wisdom

Today’s society has people who want the entire world to accept their sinful behavior.  For example same-sex marriage has been an issue for a while. People want to amend the Constitution to accept same sex marriages.  Yet, the Bible speaks against it in Leviticus 18:22, “you shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”

            Living a life of sin can be seen while society is slowly falling apart at the seam. The media is filled with murder, rape, robbery, and theft of every kind. Also terrorism and rumors of wars are in the news daily.  We are familiar with how Satan deceived Adam and Eve and told the first lie to the both of them. This allowed sin to take a foothold on their lives and on the lives of every person ever since.

            The result of sin causes one to be separated from God, whereas, in Adam and Eve’s case they were evicted from the Garden of Eden. Plainly spoken they were separated from the Tree of Life, their home, and their relationship with God. They became spiritually dead because they had no vital contact with God. We should not forget that sin does negative things to everyone. Being spiritual dead is a bad state to be in for anyone. Also, we should not forget that sin is totally against God and it hinders our relationship with God.

            Our lifestyle should be an example to our family and friends who have never receive the Gospel of the Good News. Sin is subtle; a worldly person may not identify it as being a sin, so we must continue to pray for our loved one.

Understanding of the Cross

As people of God, we recently celebrated Jesus resurrection from the dead.  Beyond traditions and doctrinal of men, we must know that Jesus died for the entire world (the Christians and the non-Christians). We must know that our victory has already been paid  in full.  It does not matter what you are experiencing you still have 100% victory in your life.  It all depends on us.  Do we follow after holiness or not?

          God created all things but it is your choice as to whom you will serve. God created us to walk in victory. We have been designed to be winners. But, with this post modernism, modern teachings and varies philosophies, many have gotten off the straight and narrow path. Apostle Paul said in 1^st Corinthians 2:2, “For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified” (NKJV).

          We should be preaching the message of the Cross.  Only Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross will guarantee us completed victory in our life. There is no other source that can save, heal or deliver us from our self and those ungodly ways.  We can join all types of organizations, but it is all about Jesus Christ crucified death and burial.  Now, if those organizations that you belong too point you to Jesus, then remain in them.  But, I know that Jesus is the only way if you want to be victorious. 

          If you need victory in your life, then you need to study the Message of The Cross.  We are moving pass religion, theology and doctrine of men.  We need to anchor ourselves in Jesus Christ and what Jesus did on the Cross.
