Sin Does Abides

Today’s mainstream society is filled with sin. We can start reading the Bible in Genesis and see where and how it entered the earth realm. If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And it desire is for you, but you should rule over it? (See Genesis 4:7). Then we can look at “if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicle 7:14KJV). This verse alone tells us that man need to be humble that is confessing his sins. Then, repent and then turn away from ungodly ways, or comeback to God. He  would hear, forgive, and heal them.
Let’s go back to Genesis.  The one man Adam!  It was through him sin entered the world.  Sin brought death.  The result is that death is now a universal experienced.  This phrase because all sinned in our lives is referring to individual sins.  When people commit ungodly acts such as fornication, killing, stealing and even telling lies this is examples of sin abiding in the land. I will take it even further just recent; a man said that God was going to return on May 21, 2011.  We all know that is not what the Scripture says.  But, from this ungodly act many people sold their belongings and many gave their money away.  This was an act of sin abiding in the land. It was a scam that deceived many. It’s the devil that deceives mankind.

Another Scripture tells us, “therefore just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and their death spread to all men, because all sinned”(Romans 5:12NKJV). In closing just think about this verse, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NKJV). Keeping those two verses in mind this alone proves the point that sin does abide in the world today. Then ask yourself this question, why do we have jails and prisons today? If the people, all lived holy without sinning would we needs correctional facilities? If you are not sure about sin and its devastating effect then you really needs to read…Sin Abides…written by Annie Dennis Eskridge. Email areskridge@sbcglobal.net website: www.ruthplace.com.
