How Do We Rightly Divide the Word of God 2 Tim 2:15

Many study the Word of God daily but they have never been told how to rightly divide it. Today I am going to share some information on this subject matter. The spiritual prayer comes from Psalm 119:18 then cleansing 1 John 1:9 and the illumination by the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 2:12-16. This is why Christians need to be filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues in order to be able to discern spiritual things. The principles of literally understanding Scripture is to interpret the text according to :(1) Mind of the author when the passage was written, (2) Its historical background, what was going on during that time (3) Context of the passage (4) the basic rules for the grammar (5) Who is he talking to the author and (6) How does it apply to be now? (7) Always know what era the passage of Scripture was written in Old Testament or New Testament. Illustration; Successful interpretation comes from meditation on the Scripture. A personal relationship with the Lord will help you to understand and interpret the Word of God. The application would be for us to regularly and systematically interpret God's Word according to its proper meaning. Every thing in the Bible is truly stated but it is not a statement of truth. For example: In Job we often will hear a minister say at a memorial service, "the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh." We know that it is truly stated but not a statement of truth because the Lord gives life and He does not take life. John 10:10 "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"(NASB).

Apostle Paul appeals for us to make every effort to properly interpret the Word of God. Many times we have to start reading a verse before what we are studying and several passages afterwards to get the true meaning of the entire passage. Saints, I do not know if anyone has shared this information or not, but this is so important to know. This will help us with our studying of God's Holy Word. It is my prayer that this information will help someone. Be Blessed with all spiritual blessings.
