His Hands: Can I Live Holy? by Annie Dennis Eskridge

Can I Live Holy? by Author Annie Dennis Eskridge, Sin Abides
Many give excuses as to why they cannot live holy. Excuses!Excuses! I'm human!I'm not perfect! The word perfect in the Bible means mature or blameless. That is what the devil wants you to say. We should be confessing..."For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him"(2 Cor 5:21). Jesus never did anything wrong. Yet, He died for our sins, so that we could be declared righteous. This is why we should be confessing."I am the righteousness of God in Christ. But my friend, we are commanded to live holy. Hebrews 12:14,"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."

Holiness denotes the quality of God that is right in all actions.
Apostle Paul exhorted the Corinthians to cleanse themselves from all filthiness. The point here is for us to be cleansed. So, that we will perfect holiness, dedicate ourself to Christ and to live righteously, so that our lifestyle will bring glory to God.

Isaiah explains," A highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool shall not go astray"(35:8NKJV). Isaiah tells us that there is a promise of a highway of holiness and nothing unclean can walk on this highway. It is a reversal of judgment.

God's holiness means that man is separated from sin and does not seek his own honor but to bring glory to God. It simply means separation from sin or evil. The idea of holiness is included in a number of Old Testament passages which also shows the separation from evil and devotion to God's own glory. Holy is used to describe both parts of the tabernacle as a place separated from evil and sin of the world. We must be holy in order for God to dwell in us.

Holiness simply means having been set free from sin, having become a slave of righteousness just as man serves sin befoe trusting Jesus Christ. Christians have been freed from sin so that they will have eternal life. Rejecting holiness is the same as rejecting God. The children of God should walk in holiness. We need to walk in peace with all people and without having holiness we will not see the Lord.

Keep in mind that the importance of living a holy life means you do not lend your members to teh devil. We must accept the fact that the devil is real, so please do not be deceived. He is crafty, scheming and it pure evil. He does not have a good bone in him. Satan cannot snatch you out of God's eternal arms if you have accepted Jesus as Your Lord and Savior. And you purpose in your heart to follow after righteousness.

Guess what? Satan wants to devour everybody. He does not want us to live holy. He hates us! He wants to destroy our relationship with Jesus Christ. It is his plan to ruin the Christians. This will make people think Christianity does not work and you can forget about living holy, acceptable unto the Lord. But, my friend Christianity does work and you can live holy. You can have a successful life with Jesus Christ if you do not lose focus. Study the Word of God daily and confess the Word with your mouth daily. Stop speaking like the world. Learn what the Word of God says about how we should live as Christians.

We have been redeemed by God's Son dying on the Cross for our sins. So, we need to stop taking Jesus off of the Cross and appreciate what He did for the entire world when He died on the Cross. I strongly believe that Christians fall from grace due to lack of understanding what Jesus did for them on the Cross.

Yes, we can live holy by being obedient to the Word of God. If your flesh is weak then we need to fast and pray until we get the victory in that part of our life. For years I lived a life of fasting and I stayed focused on the Word of God, so I know from personal experience that you can live holy. Website:http://www.ruthplace.com. Be Blessed. Thanks for taking the time to read this blog.
