Walking in the Spirit

"I say then Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh"(Galatians 5:16 NKJV)

Some seem to think that the Spirit here is your spirit. The only way to overcome the sinful desires of our flesh. We must live step by step in the power of the Holy Spirit as He works through our spirit. As we walk each moment by faith in God's Word under the Spirit's control assures absolute victory over the desires of our sinful nature. Apostle Paul goes to explain the key benefit to living life according to the guidance on the basis of the power of the Spirit, and you will not complete the desires of the flesh. Paul is telling the People of God how they should conduct themselves. Life in the Spirit, not life lived under the Mosaic Law should mark the Christian life.

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit"(Galatians 5:25 NKJV). One theologian...House explains it this way....Walking in the Spirit means to obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit. A believer folowing the Spirit's lead we will not be conceited, provoke others, or envy others. It is my prayer that you have been blessed. Just a thought for you to think about. I have posted other material at: and my email address is Please sign the guest book at Thanks for reading this thought for today. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.
