Consequences of Sin

In the chapter of Daniel 9 verses 11-14. It tells us the consequences of sin. It starts with , "yea, all Israel have transgressed they law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him." Even in verse 14 it reads, "therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice."

Keeping in mind this particular time period, as well as the context helps to determine  that the phrase...all Israel.....used here, Daniel was most likely thinking of those who had descended from Jacob.  The northern tribes had fallen long before Judah was taken captive should have been a warning. Prior to the fall of Jerusalem, the Prophet Jeremiah rebuked the people for trusting in the temple to save them(Jer 7:1-4; 26:12-15).

The curse mentioned in Daniel's prayer most likely referred to the cursed for disobediences that is found in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. Describes by Moses just before Israle entered the Promised Land, such things as agricultural blight, pestilence, drought, illness, military defeat as a result of the nations disobedience. Daniel even prayed and acknowledged that we have sinned against God. This tells us that it is absolute necessary for us to admit our sinfulness before the Lord.(1John1:7-2:2).

Even today, we see so much disobedience in the world.  Things that goes against the Word of God that is the Bible, it is disobedience. If we do not repent and believe the gropel of Jesus Christ, our destiny will be far worse than what happened to Jerusalem when it was destroyed by the Babylonians. Whether the time is short or not we all need to listen to the Spirit of God, so the Christians will not be lost. Annie Dennis-Eskridge, areskridge@sbcglobal.net author of Sin Abides.

Jesus Command Forgiveness

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord how oft shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times; but, until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servant"(Matthew 18:21-23 KJV).

Many feel that forgiveness should be earned. But that is not what the Scripture says. It encourages us to forgive unconditionally. Peter assumed that seven times were amply tome to forgive anyone. Jesus responds that seven times is not sufficient but that you should forgive seventy times seven, unlimited forgiveness must applied.

So, think about this and then ask yourself, can I follow after what Jesus had spoken to His disciple? If we are followers after Jesus Christ, then we must also follow  his instructions. It might seem hard when someone ahs deliberated hurt you over and over again, but if we ask Jesus to help us, He will.  Many times we have to cast that care on Jesus, so we can walk in forgiveness with whom has wrong us.  Regardless of who the person is, we must learn to forgive them, so that the Lord will forgive us. Just a word of wisdom for today.

Far too many Christians are walking in unforgiveness.  Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides...website: http://www.ruthplace.com and my email is areskridge@sbcglobal.net

Word of Wisdom: Saints fail to make a difference

Today our fractured families are so disconnected and so busy concentrating on computers, intent on different electronic, and taking time to tect instead of talking. We teach the word of God diligently to our children, talk to them when we sit down in our homes, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up(Deut 6:7).  Instead, we plan programs, attend luncheons, praise the Lord in our pews, and then wonder why we are are surrounded by a generation, that attend our churches, yet, they do not know God. They live contrary to the Word of God, yet they attend church faithfully. We must see to be filled with the Holy Spirit and stir up the gift, so we may be, Empowered by God to Make A Difference.( Taken from the Christian  Women Council's Curriculum Topics 2013).

Elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen great works of the Lord and yet they did not know God's work. Their ignorance resulted from the failure of these elders, who knew of God's work, yet they did not follow after righteous. Today this new generation have not been convinced to follow God. As Saints, we need to make a difference instead of letting this generation go down the wrong highway. They need to be on a highway of holiness as found in Isaiah 35:8."And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness, the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfearing men, though fools, shall not err therein. The Scripture definitely predicts a literal highway that will be built from Egypt through Israel to Assyria (isa 11:6; 19:23-25); however, these passages do not refer to taht particular highway but to the way of Holiness.

It is proclaimed by the Holy Spirit that the way is holiness.  Holiness characterizes all taht God is and does.   Just a word of wisdom for all to think about.  Annie Dennis Eskridge

The Divided Church

We can consult the telephone directory or Google churches and we would find several listed. Then, we ask the question, why are there so many churches? The answer might seem complicated to some and to others understanding the historical origin for each church. The answers usually have a simple answer: established churches divide when they disagree over issues such as control and doctrine. Over the years, these divisions have multiplied until it is difficult to determine how many different churches exist today.

Many accept the churches as God's plan, while there are signs that challenge this attitude. We are far from presenting the church of Our Lord Jesus Christ as a united body to an unbelieving world. We should keep this thought in mind. On the night that He was betrayed, Christ prayed for the unity of the Church. This is necessary for the  world to believe the Church message about salvation in Him. Many need to be free from the divided church mentality to the Church of Jesus Christ. The Church needs to be reminded of the Word of Jesus. "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, are in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me"(John 17:21KJV). Here, Jesus is speaking of a spiritual unit and not an organizational unity. Just a Word

It is God's prefect timing for us to rejoice in His perfect ways. We should not trade a single moment for it. Here is a poem that can be appreciate for this time.

The Thorn
I stood a mendicant of God before His royal throne
And begged Him for one priceless gift that I could call my own.
I took the gift from out His hand, but as I would depart
I cried,"But Lord, this is a thorn! And it has pierced my heart."
He said, "My child, I give good gifts and gave My best to thee."
I took it home, and though at first the cruel thorn hurt sore,
As long years passed I learned at last to love it more and more.
I leraned He never gives a thorn without this added grace:
He takes the thorn to pin aside the veil that hides His face.

Just a Word

In all that we go though in  life, we are Christ's ambassadors. As we continue to live as ambassadors of Christ, let us persevere what God has commanded us to do. No matter what hardhips we may go through, we still need to be strong leaders who have overcame greater hardships that we have ever imagine. We can learn from them.

Lately, many Christians have forgotten about their Christianity and serving idol gods. They have wandered back under idol gods. Yet ,we know what happen to Israel  and we  are doing the same thing. How can you connect your spirit with an ungodly spirit? It is all because we can not find room in our heart to forgive. Yet, most of us have sin, because the Bible say, for we all have fallen short of God's glory. God forgave us,  yet we can not forgive.

Unforgiveness can turn into a serious disease that we will not be able to combat unless, we find forgiveness in our heart. Just a few weeks a young lady called me, because she was so confused. People were telling her to go against her belief, just because a person made a statement.  As a child of God we must love everyone and hate sin. I could ask one question and many would throw stones at me, but please think about it.

How many times have you told a lie? How many times before you truly got saved have you cheated , committed fornication, adultery and all the rest? See, you get my point. We all have be in areas where we should not have been, but we asked for forgiveness and God forgave us. Please think about it and be truthful to yourself because God already knows. Say a little pray and ask God to help you to forgive others as He does so many times. Then, ask the Lord who should I vote for, I am truly your Child and I want to be like Jesus and not what someone told me. Stay under the protection of the true and Living God and you will succeed. areskridge@sbcglobal.net. Annie Dennis Eskridge. Just a word for you to think about.

Prayer

Prayer is communicating from the heart of a person to the ear of God. Throughout theOld Testament and New Testaments, we find God answering prayers of those who needed him. We are familiar with David, who prayed for forgiveness and resotration after being caught in sin, and God heard his prayer.  Then we had Elisha who prayed for this servant's eyes to be opened to see the army of the Lord and God made it so ,as found in 1 Kings 6:17).

Jesus gave us Scriptures to tell us how to prayer.  He declared that praying to impress others makes people hypocrites. He decribed the hypocrites as those who found conspicous places to stand and pray in the synagogue and even on the street corners. When we pray, we should not pray to show the public, how pious and spiritual we are.  Out motivation should be to glorify and seek God and God alone.

As we slowly approach the upcoming election, we need to pray for God's will be done in the elections in the United States and in the political proess of nations around the world(Psalm75:5-7). Then, we can speak to God for ourselves and ask Him, who should you vote for? Christians can not vote for anyone or anything. But, we must have a forgiving heart and ask the Lord to show you, who cares about my welfare?

Finally, we can not listen to liars because a liar will eventually destroy themselves. The truth will always stand when a lie will fall off the scene. Then, how many of us have said or done things that others had a problem with? Now, you get my point. Be blessed and enjoy the rest of your week.
