Dr. Kendall hits a bull's eye again! He has written over fifty books based on the Word of God. In Jealousy- the Sin no one talks about- he also list thirteen ways to overcome jealousy. I really like the way he exposes and dissect a most potent enemy of our contentment, he has given new insights. He tells us how to recognize it then how do we fight it. This is not just in the church, but it's in society as a whole.
"It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry...the important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice"(Philippians 1:15,18). He give thirteen propositions that will bring victory over jealousy, whether it be your own jealousy or you are making them jealous.(1) Admit it to yourself. Don't live in denial.(2)Confess it to God 1 John 1:9 then Psalm 139:2.(3) Practice total forgiveness Luke 23:34 and 1 Corinthians 13:4. (4)Choose God's praise of you over the compliments of people. John 5:44 and 1 Peter 5:6. (5) Anticipate your reward at the judgment seat of Christ. John 5:44 and I Cor 9:24. (6) Accept your calling. 1 Cor 4:7 (7) Accept your inheritance. Psalm 47:4. (8) Remember that God decides what people should think of you. 2 Cor 12:6.(9) Let God vindicate you. Deut 32:35 and 1 Sam 17. (10) Develop a godly jealousy. (11) Set your sight on heaven, not things of the earth. Col 3:1-2. (12) Be thankful 1 Thes 5:18 and Phil 4:6 and (13) Just praise the Lord. Heb 13:15. Apostle paul advice the church to"Rejoice in the Lord always"(Phil 4:5). We are reminded to give praise in all things. When we praise the Lord, as the praises are going up then the blessings will come down. I strongly believe that the Lord is speaking a message through Dr. Kendall about jealousy. It will ruin your life. God loves us so much. He wants us to live a victorious overcoming life. This is why we need to be warn against jealousy. I've read several of Dr. Kendall's book and they have truly blessed me. Many have helped me to see me and then to correct what I didn't like.It will be a blessing to you. You can purchase the book from any Christian bookstore. Annie Dennis Eskridge, author of Sin Abides.
